Weekend Redux

A full weekend it twas. The roasting demo went very well. There was not a great deal of continual traffic, but there was significant interest in the ease of home roasting coffee. Many were impressed at the ease and some seemed very interested in trying it out on their own.

I took along SM’s Columbia “Perros Bravos de Huila” (3-Star) for roasting. All three roasts were stopped at a City+ roast, measuring roughly 435F. All brewing was done in a Chemex. Enjoyed by all.

After the demo, we took off apple picking. So, apples abound in our house now! Gotta love fall! Add to that the seemingly steady stream of eggs coming in, and things are busy, but quite good. Now, if I only had more time to finish up the bathroom…

Glad the demo went well. Sources tell me that you might have made one convert, too!

We have a pear tree in our yard. I’ll trade you a bushel of pears for a bushel of apples. 🙂

We’ll see. There may have been others, but I won’t know. But it’s fun to chat in person about coffee, explaining it all.

The bushel + of apples are slowly getting sauced, buttered and a few make into the oven in muffins, pies, etc. So, they won’t last for long.

Ah, just as well. Shipping costs would have eaten up the benefits of having your own tree or picking your own.
