Happy Reformation Day!

Just a brief pause to wish everyone a Happy Reformation Day! Remember from history class, somewhere long ago, that a monk, frustrated by corruption and seeking debate on theological issues, started a whirlwind when he nailed the 95 Theses to the Wittenberg church door? You and I can worship freely, thanks, in part to Luther’s steadfastness and dedication to truth.

A few others have notes about the day. See below:

Anthony Bradley and a good question.

TeamPyro on Marking the Reformation.

TallSkinyKiwi with Some Thoughts.

A nice roundup by Tim Challies.

There are others, I’m sure. But raise a glass with Luther, as they usually do at Concordia.

Solo Deo Gloria,

Jason, I could spend days reading through all the links you provide on this blog. That was very interesting reading. Thanks.

By the way, Erwin Lutzer is doing a series on Martin Luther right now.

Last night, I worked as part of a mission team from our church. Next year, I think I might use some of the suggestions for marking this day I read about on one of your links instead.

Cool. After reading the TeamPyro entry, the wife and I are thinking about having a RefDay celebration on the 31st. Complete German-fest, with some kid goodies. Can’t go wrong with gummy worms (Diet of Worms) to commemorate!

LOL Gummy worms, eh? Quite appropriate.
